Winter Sports and Chalets, La Tania Style

With more and more people taking a break to practice their skiing or other winter sporting skills, getting suitable accommodation - which is close enough to the slopes and other activities - is an important component of any winter holiday. If your personal preference is self-catering chalets, La Tania may be an ideal destination for you.
A Lovely Resort With Something for Everyone
Nobody would suggest that you should select a holiday resort solely on the quality of the accommodation on offer. On the other hand, no-one can deny that turning up and finding that your accommodation is a disappointment can effectively ruin a holiday that otherwise ticked all of your boxes.
Sitting at the heart of the Three Valleys ski resorts in between Courchevel and Méribel at an altitude of 1400m, and home to many delightful chalets, La Tania can offer a package that is second to none.
For many, the idea of a perfect skiing or snowboarding holiday is one that offers fast and easy access to the appropriate level slopes - whatever the level of competency they may have in their chosen sporting activities. La Tania has 150km of downhill and 66km of cross country pistes. There are currently 9 black, 35 red, 34 blue and 15 green runs, so all ability levels are well catered for. For the most experienced skiers, there are also opportunities nearby for some really 'seriously black' runs, as well as off-piste and glacier skiing. Snowboarders are also very well catered for, with good parks and terrain for freestylers and beginners.
Pretty as a Picture
Prior to the 1980s, the resort was a small hamlet; it was then developed into a ski station for the winter season, opening in 1990. Unlike some other resorts, this development was carried out sympathetically, with an abundance of wooden chalet-styled buildings. So although this is one of the more modern stations in the area, there is still a charming feel to the place. On the accommodation side there's plenty to offer with private residences, apartments and shared chalets - La Tania truly does cover all bases.
Well Facilitated
Even the most ardent skier may appreciate the option to do something else while on a winter sports trip, and although in size the resort is relatively small (accommodating around 4000 visitors), it does have a lively nightlife. There are larger resorts like Courchevel and Méribel close by as well, for those looking for more action. The area is well served by transport links and it is within a two-hour drive of five major airports, so getting there couldn't be easier.
Whether you're planning a holiday as a couple, a family, or a group of friends renting one of the lovely chalets, La Tania is well worth considering.
